Ian Chapman named an unchanged side, from the eleven that beat the same opposition in the Emirates FA Cup, just a week ago.

The game started at a frantic pace, with both sides creating opportunities. The first chance of the game fell to Kieron Pamment, who’s headed effort flew just the wrong side of the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Josh James was called in action, as he produced a great save to palm Kieron McCann’s effort wide. Connor Tighe then had a golden opportunity, in the 17th minute, to open the scoring, but his header was straight at the thankful Roberts. The host were awarded a penalty in the 35th minute, as Ter Horst was brought down in the area, Adam Yusuff stepped up, but blasted his spot kick over the crossbar. The final chance of the half fell to Gary Charman, but Roberts was equal to the centre half’s effort.

Invicta started the half brightly, and took the lead in the 60th minute, as Yusuff made no mistake, this time, nestling his curling effort into the bottom corner. The hosts had a spring in their step, and must have thought they’d doubled their lead, when the ball fell to Ian Draycott inside the six yard box, but the recently introduced, Charlie Bennett made a miriculous last ditch challenge to thwart the Invicta veteran. Just minutes later, the Hillians found their deserved equaliser, and what a wonderful goal it was. A cleared Folkestone corner found its way to Connor Tighe, who played a nonchalant, outside of the boot, pass to Ben Pope, who drove at the Invicta back line, before squarring to Dan Beck who rifilled his effort into the bottom corner – sparking jubilant celebrations from the Hillians supporters. The Hillians had the best chance to win the game, in the 85th minute, as the ever-dangerous Pamment jinked his way through challenges, before releasing a low strike, which Roberts somehow got a boot to.

A good point on the road for the Hillians, who extend their unbeaten run to three games, but still go in search for their first league win of the season.

The Hillians MOTM was awarded to Dan Beck, who, as well as scoring the Hillians’ equaliser, worked tirelessly in the middle of the park.
