Burgess Hill Town Football Club are delighted to announce that David Corney and Vicky Gaffney have partnered with the existing owner and Chairman Vince Alfieri and existing owner and Director Tina Alfieri to make a co-ownership team for the Club.

Chairman Vince Alfieri explains more on the background and rationale of appointing two new co-owners.

“When Tina and I took over the club in February, we set ourselves a mission to transform the club into a Community Hub for the town. Our vision is to progress both on and off the pitch and to make the people of Burgess Hill Town proud of their local football club.  We are pleased with the progress we have made in a very short space of time, most notably the positive environment for our staff, volunteers and wonderful fans, who come and enjoy football matches and social activities here at the Home Call Carpets Community Stadium. This was acknowledged recently by the club very proudly winning the FA Grassroots Club of the Year 2023″.

“When you look at the potential this club has, it was clear Tina and I were going to need support in steering the club to reach its full potential. This is where David and Vicky come in!  We first met David and Vicky 5 months ago and since then we have spent considerable time talking about the football club and the positive impact the club has for the local people of Burgess Hill. David and Vicky are as passionate about non-league football as we are and having spent time with us, our volunteers and fanbase,  they firmly believe in the clubs’ potential and its community spirited ambitions”.

“David and Vicky have a successful track record in owning and growing businesses. The drive and determination they have will benefit this club enormously.  Our new partnership is sure to propel Burgess Hill Town FC forwards and fulfill its potential. It truly is a very exciting time”

David outlined his and Vicky’s motivation for getting involved with a local football club.

“Vicky and I have been avid football fans all our lives and it was always an objective at some point to be part of running a football club. Having run our insurance related software company for 25 years, we thought it was a good time to use those business skills in further developing a football club that its town and community can be proud of. The volunteers and supporters of the club have already made us feel incredibly welcome – and we are really excited to be part of the team which aims to do justice to a club with such a strong heritage and real potential for the future”

The club would like to wish David and Vicky a very warm welcome to Burgess Hill Town Football Club and we all look forward to a bright future together.
