As winter approaches, football fixtures come thick and fast and after only catching breath from Saturday’s battle, we will do it all over again when we travel to the coast to tackle Shaun Saunders’ Whitehawk.
It’s back to back wins now for the Hillians with Jay Lovett’s men finally starting to find some form after a ropey start to the season. A Dan Perry goal, his 5th of the campaign, and Martyn Box’s 2nd of the season saw us over the line against Hanworth Villa in the FA Trophy at the weekend.
Our East Sussex hosts are unsurprisingly having a good start to the 2022/23 Isthmian League season where they remain unbeaten, they sit 6th with 12 points from the opening 6 games. Whitehawk were also in FA Trophy action at the weekend but after grabbing a last gasp equaliser away at Folkestone Invicta, it proved to be in vain as they lost a subsequent penalty shoot out to bow out of the Trophy.
Both teams will have players who have played for both clubs, that’s an added incentive if ever there was any to get one over on the other!
Whitehawk Vs Burgess Hill is almost as unmissable in the stands as it is on the pitch with this game bringing together 2 of the most passionate and dedicated sets of fans. They will be ready. The players will be ready. Will you be ready? See. You. There.
