It’s all things cup games at the moment for the Hillians as we travel to Imber Court looking to knock our 2nd successive Step 3 opponent out of the famous old cup.
The Hillians travelled the 260 mile round trip in midweek to Felixstowe&Walton Utd and were rewarded for their commitment, winning 3-2 in a Penalty Shootout after drawing 2-2 in normal time. Goals from Lewis Finney and Charlie Kelly send us to penalties before on loan Brighton keeper Tommy Reid, filling in for the injured Will Huffer, saved 2 spot kicks and Martyn Box converted the winning pen to send us into the next round.
Our hosts from Imber Court currently play in the Step 3 Southern League Premier South division (a league above the Hill). To get to this stage, the Met had to go to a replay against Corinthian and even then they went to Extra Time, snatching the win in the 120th minute! In the league, our hosts have had a solid start to the 2022//23 campaign. They currently sit 5th with 13 points from 7 games. The Police were also in action away from home in midweek as they defeated Hanwell Town 1-0 in the league.
A safe trip to all Hillians making the journey to Imber Court, your support this season has been fantastic.
