An FA Cup upset at Corinthian Casuals last weekend could be the tonic the Hillians needed to springboard our 2022/23 season into life. From one FA competition to another as this weekend we swap the cup for the trophy as we head to Dellwood Avenue.
As previously mentioned (and we probably haven’t finished bringing it up!) Burgess Hill we’re triumphant in the greatest cup competition in football last weekend as goals from Lewis Finney and Dan Perry saw us shock step 3 side Corinthian Casuals at King George’s Field. Full focus now turns onto the Seasiders from Suffolk. Our easterly hosts ply their trade in the Isthmian North division (same level as us, just the Essex/Suffolk equivalent!)
Felixstowe have had a very decent start to the 2022/23 campaign, winning 3 and drawing one of their opening 4 league matches, currently occupying 2nd spot, albeit in the early stages of the season. Our opponents weren’t in cup action at the weekend so the last time they played was on Bank Holiday Monday when they defeated Coggeshall Town 3-1 away from home.
We applaud every single Hillian braving the long trip to Suffolk on Saturday, especially in what could be challenging conditions! Your support never goes unnoticed.
