Our success away at Sevenoaks last weekend will look to be the catalyst to a strong finish to the league season. We welcome another team from Kent, this time in the shape of the Cannons, Hythe Town to Mid Sussex for our 29th league encounter of the season.
Jay Lovett’s men lost their perfect 2022 home form against Ramsgate 2 weeks ago so they will be keen to get back to impressing the home faithful at the weekend. We put that defeat behind us last weekend when we travelled to Sevenoaks and defeated them 3-1 thanks to goals from Lewis Finney, Hayden Skerry and Lewis Taylor. That result, coupled with the other games in the division sees us sitting in 7th place. Our previous meeting with Hythe Town saw the Hill produce one of their best performances of the season. On a Tuesday evening back in December, beating them 5-1. After falling behind, braces from Michael Uwezu and Tom Chalaye, coupled with a strike from Hayden Skerry saw the Hillians end their Tuesday night league hoodoo.
The visitors from Kent currently sit 13th with 30 points from 28 matches. After a tricky season, the Cannons are just starting to hit form at the right time to pull clear of the dreaded drop. They got a late winner last weekend at home to Chichester which saw them pick up 3 vital points. They have only lost one of their last 5 and are not to be underestimated.
Jo and Katie’s BOTN Tea Hut will be open throughout the afternoon, be sure to give them a visit!
Saturday’s match is sponsored by Sport Yogi.
The Hillians Bar will be showing Everton vs Manchester City live at 5:30pm after our game.
We look forward to seeing you all at the weekend!
