These Tuesday evening games are coming thick and fast, aren’t they?! No sooner had our boys prevailed over Uxbridge on penalties last Tuesday, both fixture secretaries were quickly pencilling in the next round of the Isthmian League Velocity Trophy.
After a mightily impressive point away at Herne Bay on Saturday, making it 8 league games unbeaten and 4 consecutive clean sheets in the league, we now refocus back to the Trophy.
Our opponents Ashford United had a bye in the first round but in the league, they are absolutely flying. Currently occupying top spot and off the back of an impressive 3-1 victory over VCD Athletic at the weekend, Jay Lovett’s men will know they’ll their work cut out.
We have already travelled to the Homelands Stadium this season, it was the curtain raiser of the 2021/22 season. Ashford prevailed 3-1, with Pat Harding scoring our goal and some goal it was!
A very safe journey to all Hillians travelling down to Ashford in the bitter cold for a relatively short notice game. Your support never goes unnoticed.
