A first Hillians goal for Josh Short and a Steve Sargent penalty gave the Hillians victory in their opening Velocity Trophy group stage encounter.
The game began with the Hillians in the driving seat and Wormull’s men could have been two-up inside the opening ten minutes. It wasn’t until the 35th minute that they took the lead – with Josh Short poking home from close range.
The second half saw much of the same, with the Hillians playing some lovely stuff at times. The centre-half pairing of Drew Matthews and Tolulope Jonah were on hand to thwart any sniff of a Heath attack. In the 69th minute, stand-in skipper, Steve Sargent converted from the spot to make it two.
The Hillians MOTM was awarded to Steve Sargent, who ran the game from the middle of the park.
A massive thank you to all you Hillians who turned out to support the club last night.
We’re now not in action until September 14th – when we host Sevenoaks…again!
