All at Burgess Hill Town FC are deeply saddened to share the news that former Secretary, Groundsman and all round Club person Roger Puttick has sadly passed away.
Roger had a long association with the Club having played for the Hillians and held roles behind the scenes as Secretary and Groundsman and also ran the bar. As well as being social Secretary. A real club man. He was always supported by his wife Sue who sadly passed away a few years ago. Roger’s granddaughter Emily and grandson Jack followed in Roger’s footsteps by volunteering and doing so much for the Hillians.
Chairman Vince Alfieri has said, “All at the club would like to send their love and best wishes to Rogers family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Roger recently and it was clear to see how fondly he is rememberd for his time at the club. A true club legend, who will be missed dearly. Burgess Hill Town FC would like to thank Roger for everything he did for the club and will be showing our appreciation with a minutes applause during Saturday’s game”
Club president Peter Miles who was a long time friend of Roger’s said “Roger will be sadly missed as a supporter of the club and a personal friend of mine. Roger was an integral part of the clubs history and we will ensure Rogers memory will live on forever here at the football club”
There will be a minutes applause before Saturdays game with Steyning Town.
