This Sunday there’s a Charity game at Burgess Hill Town Football Club’s HomeCall Carpets Community Stadium which will see a host of ex football league stars and a few celebrities take the field on Sunday 4th August (1:30pm kick off).

Southampton manager Russell Martin, who also heads up the Russell Martin Academy confirmed his squad this week: Ex pros: Russell Martin, Chris Whelpdale, Sergio Torres, Adam El Abd, Dean Cox, Sam Rents, Jake Robinson, Craig Mackail-Smith, Dan Harding, Aaron McLean, Matt Briggs, Jay Lovett. Celebrities : Jamie Kenna, Luca Bish, Michael Kurn, Ronnie Vint.

Hill legends will be managed by former skipper Darren Budd and former Reserve Team Manager and current Club President Peter Miles and they have called in 2015 Isthmian title winners Josh James, Andy Pearson, Sam Fisk, Joe Keehan and Pat Harding. Other names include Sussex County title winners Shaun Grice, Leo Day, Nicky Sullivan and the Club’s top ever goalscorer Steve Harper. Other Hillians who will play are Lee Denyer, Nick Fogden, Paul Armstrong and Craig Hall.

After the match Russell Martin will hold a Q&A in the clubhouse after the game too.

The game will be played on Sunday 4th August at the HomeCall Carpets Community Stadium, Leylands Park with a 1:30pm kick off and radio legend Richie Reynolds will also be in attendance.
