2-3

The Hillians had another excellent run out as preparations continue for the 2024/25 season with a young Brighton & Hove Albion side visiting the HomeCall Carpets Community Stadium.

The Hill took the lead on 14 minutes as the Albion gave Dan Perry time to turn and shoot and they pay the ultimate price as he wallops it in from 25 yards.

The was an instant response as as a Brighton man speeds away from the backline and cooly slotted past Slav Huk and two minutes after that the No9 for the Albion raced down the right and smashes low past Huk to turn the score around.

On 25 minutes Huk made a cracking double save getting down low really well both times. But the Albion went in at half time leading by 3. Another neat move down the right from the Albion resulted in the youngsters adding a 3rd. Hill nearly pulled one back on the stroke of half time as great build up play from Kieran Rowe, resulted in him setting up Ollie Davies but it’s just behind him and he fires over.

Hill came out strong in the second half and saw a few chances. Lewis Taylor swings a lovely ball into Tom Chalaye who shoots just wide. Alex Brewer had the ball in the net as the Albion head against their own bar before Brewer scores but he is flagged offside. Taylor forces the Albion GK into a cracking low save. And the on 72 minutes a brilliant double save from the Albion GK denied Brewer and then Chalaye.

With 6 minutes remaining Hill won a penalty after great work from Brewer and Martyn Box sends the GK the wrong way to make it 3-2. In injury time there was a late chance for Hill as Damien Theodore to equalise but he smacks inches wide.

A great game of pre season football finished with the Albion winning 2-3. Brilliant side brought down from Brighton and a very strong performance from our chaps.
