Burgess Hill Town drew for the second time in a row in the league as a 75th minute equaliser stopped the Hillians taking all three points.
The visitors got off to a brilliant start as they opened the scoring in the first minute when a ball out to the left found Gael Kileba. He cut inside and smashed the ball home.
It could have been worse for the Hillians as Reggie Ward spared the Hillians when he cleared from under his own bar as the visitors looked the more threatening in the opening stages.
Hill grew into the game and on 15 minutes Ward got in behind but Mo Jammeh couldn’t finish and soon after Dan Perry flicked the ball forward to Jammeh who raced clear but couldn’t lift the ball over Andy Walker and then he volleyed the rebound into the side netting.
Rob O’Toole had a volley go high and wide after 33 minutes and three minutes later the Hillians nearly levelled as Darren Budd whipped in a free kick which hit a visiting defender and flew goalwards, it then hit’s Walker and bounces on the line only for it to be cleared.
Hillians did find their equaliser just minutes before half time as Jammeh rounded Walker and smashed the ball home at the second time of asking.
Hill started the second half well and O’Toole flicked a header off the far post just two minutes in and Perry then set up Ward who shot but Walker saved it out for a corner which resulted in an effort being cleared off the line.
On 62 minutes a long throw caused chaos in the visitors box and Marcus Allen flicked the ball on for O’Toole to shoot but Walker made a good low save.
Three minutes later veteran midfielder Darren Budd, on his 202nd appearance for the Club, gave the Hillians the lead. Ward beat the goalkeeper to the ball and lifted it over him, it took a deflection and was spinning goalwards and Budd stretched to poke it home.
From then on the visitors had a few chances with Glover making a couple of good saves as they searched for an equaliser and it arrived in the 75th minute courtesy of Kwesi Ntim.
The Hillians were hanging on as the Londoners were pushing for a winner and saw an effort deflected over but the Hillians held out for a point.
