BHTFC send a huge message of congratulations to all connections of Worthing Fc U18s for winning the Isthmian South Title. The team have been in great form winning 16 from the 17 games played. Good luck for the remainder of the season.
Under a beautiful sunset, clear skies and mild temperatures our brilliant U18s went into their last 24/25 match against the Champions with energy and aspiration. It was an encounter everyone wanted to be a part of. Unfortunately, it was the visitors who took a soft lead in the first min. The striker following up after two defenders went for the same ball. Hill dusted off and played some excellent football. A quick ball down the right saw Hill break the offside trap. King was left one on one, but the keeper made a great save. Moments later Hoffmann worked a shooting chance, but the defender got the leg in the way. On 20 mins there was heartbreak for all Hillians as Sonni allowed a ball to escape his feet and end up in the back of the net. Once again Hill went back on the attack. With the best move of the 1st half Luca Oliva peeled off his marker to receive the ball in the inside channel. Unfortunately, he got the ‘bobble’ his shoot high over the bar. Five mins later a fierce shot from the left had the keeper stretching the ball flicking the outside of the far post as it sped by. As half time approached Worthing took control with a quick move down the right, the winger slotting the 3rd.

Hill came out determined to give it a real go. After 50 mins a fine move allowed Thomas Sekyere to break free of the defensive line. He made no mistake slotting the ball neatly inside the near post. The Home Call Carpets alive with hope. Hill put the hammer down and dominated for large parts. The midfield, led by the athletic Hoffmann were quick to get the ball forward with precision and pace. This led to several corners which had the visitors under pressure. On the hour mark a Hill forward went down in the box with the ref pointing towards the spot. Luca Oliva keep his nerve to put his team right back in it. With the next corner there was goal mouth scramble the ball canoeing off a post. With 5 left Hill were awarded a dangerous free kick on the left. The ground held its breath as Fane stepped up. His thrilling effort just over the bar. Worthing had soaked up a lot of pressure by this time and fair play to them for finding a little extra. On time the game last finally settled when their striker stabbed home a cross from the right.
