The Hillians return to the HomeCall Carpets Community Stadium on Saturday (29th March) as we welcome Phoenix Sports to Mid Sussex with a 3pm kick off. The match is kindly sponsored by our main sponsors LRG Group.
BEFORE THE GAME WE WILL BE SHOWING THE FA CUP GAME BETWEEN FULHAM AND CRYSTAL PALACE AND THEN AFTER THE GAME THE BRIGHTON HOVE ALBION TIE AGAINST NOTTINGHAM FOREST ON THE BIG SCREENS.
The two sides met back in the middle of January as the Hilians came away 3-0 winners at the Mayplace Ground with big defender Nathan Cooper hitting a brace and Stefan Vukoje also finding the net as all the goals came in the first half to send the Hillians to victory.
Despite sitting just inside the relegation zone their form has improved over recent weeks as they fight to avoid relegation. They have picked up excellent wins against Herne Bay, Erith Town and Steyning Town whilst also picking up points against Ashford and Broadbridge Heath. Their squad includes a few former Hillians including Sam Freeman and Jake Goodman.
There will be some faces from the past at the ground today as we have the great privilege of welcoming some of the ex-players and management of the Alan Pook era at BHTFC. During Alan’s three years at the Club we won the Sussex County League three times and also won the Floodlit Cup and League Cup (twice) during the most successful time in the Club’s history. Alan assembled one of Sussex Football’s finest squads. There were some great memories of cup runs in the FA Vase with fantastic wins over Canvey Island and Clitheroe in a spell that put the Hillians on the map and build the foundations of the Hillians moving into Isthmian League football.
