There were plenty of goals as the Hillians hit double figures in their first run out of pre-season defeating Southern Combination League Division One side Montpelier Villa 10-0.

It was a good work out for Gary Mansell and Jay Lovett’s new look Hillians as the joint managers fielded two different sides each half to get minutes in the tank in the opening pre-season game.

Alex Brewer hit four goals in the first half whilst recent signing Callum Chesworth added a fifth. Another five goals were scored in the second half through Damien Theodore, Kieran Rowe, Reggie Ward and a brace from Dan Perry.

New keeper Slav Huk, known for his penalty saving, lived up to his reputation by saving two penalties one in each half.

33’ Ben Pope has absolutely thundered a free kick which the GK, for the sake of his own health, moves out the way off, but it flies just over.

34’ Alex Brewer has a first half hattrick, another assist for Hamish Morrison and a splendid finish high into the net for Brewer.

39’ GOAL! It’s 4 for Alex Brewer who gets slipped in by Lawson and he rounds the GK and finishes it well.

41’ GOAL! Alex Brewer this time turns provider as he slips in Callum Chesworth who finishes his lunch.

The referee has awarded the hosts his second penalty and what do you know, Slav Huk has saved it again! SLAV!

Joe Overy dances through the backline and looks to add a Hill 6th but rolls it inches wide.

GOAL! It is 6 of the best for Hill as U18 Damien Theodore gets in on the action, a reward for his very lively second half!

GOAL! Ollie Davies sets up Kieran Rowe after great work initially from Theodore and Rowe dances his way in and rounds the keeper for 7!

GOAL! AND GOAL AGAIN! Dan Perry and Reggie Ward get on the scoresheet in very quick succession.

GOAL! Dan Perry gets his second after very unselfish play from Joe Overy to square it across for Pez!

Fantastic cross from Joe Overy who has been very impressive and a diving Dan Perry can only head it inches over.
