It was a return to winning ways for the U18s on Tuesday against Bognor Regis with a 4-3 win.

It was a scrappy start to the match with neither side starting particularly well but as the Hillians settled into the game they started creating some chances and should have taken the lead from a corner when Henry Yorke-Johnson headed wide.

Another corner came quickly and Henry Yorke-Johnson met the corner but this time headed over the bar!

The Hillians finally took a deserved lead on 27 minutes when Austin Potter  scored following a good pass from Dylan Hurst.

The second goal came on 36 minutes when good combination play between Koby Farrell and Noah Hoffman put Joe Overy through on goal who finished well.

Austin Potter was denied a second goal after being adjudged offside and Bognor had a few half chances which were mainly through some loose play from the Hillians.

Half Time 2-0

Despite Bognor making a couple of changes the second half started well and the young Hillians were playing some extremely attractive football.

The lead was extended on 68 minutes when Noah Hoffman slotted home following a good through ball from Joe Overy.

Bognor struck back on 68 minutes scoring at the near post to make it 3-1. Alex Brewer came on for Austin Potter. He won and then missed a penalty on 75 minutes before extending the lead to 4-1 on 85 minutes.

The Hillians missed several chances to extend the lead further before conceding two late goals on 90 minutes and 90+1.

It was a very good display and a couple of late goals meant the scoreline was closer than maybe it should have been but the U18s will be pleased with their performance.

Next up Three Bridges at Home on Thursday evening – kick off 7:30pm.
