Burgess Hill Town & Broadbridge Heath played out a goalless draw in the league for the second time this season in front of a good crowd of 452.

Gary Mansell made one change with Conrad Honore coming in for Tahjae Anderson in a match sponsored by Consort Frozen Foods.

A trend from recent games thankfully didn’t continue as the Hillians avoided conceding early although the visitors had the first chance as they roared down the left but fired across goal.

The Hillians first chance came on 13 minutes as Reece Hallard did really well to beat two men on the right and find Lewis Taylor just inside the box but he pulled his effort wide from the right.

6 minutes later defender Jake Goodman burst from defence and ran the whole length of the pitch before looking to square it for Honore but the Bears scramble clear. Hallard looked the most likely to break the deadlock for Hill, he almost gets in 1 on 1 but his touch let him down.

On 35 minutes Honore broke down the left for the Hill and he played a lovely ball for Hallard, it’s just ahead of him and nearly falls to Kieran Rowe, but unfortunately it evaded him as well.

Minutes before half time the Hillians had a massive chance to took the lead but it was a superb save from George Evans to keep the scores level. A corner dropped to Olly Hamstead who smashes it at goal from close range but Evans sticks a palm out and thwarts him in the final chance of the half.

The visitors had the first chance of the second half but failed to hit the target whilst at the other end Hallard once again finds himself in a good position but rushes his effort and smacks it wide.

The Hillians should have taken the lead on 62 minutes when player / assistant  boss Lewis Taylor gets played clean through but he fired straight at Evans.

Evans was keeping the Bears in the game, Hallard was clean through and it was a tremendous save from Evans to tip over. Then from the resulting corner the ball falls to Hallard again but he sliced over.

Mansell made his first change with 14 minutes remaining and it was a nice moment for Marcel Powell as he made his long awaited return from injury, replacing Honore who had run his socks off.

Another great chance for the Hillians as Rowe broke clear but his shot is blocked. Soon after Jay Beckford does brilliant to run down the left, his cross is perfect but Taylor and Hallard get in each other ways and Evans make another save.

Hill despite dominating could not find the breakthrough and in the final minutes Reggie Ward cuts in from the left but fired over. The visitors had the chance to steal the three points but Fin Holter, a spectator for most of the game, made a fine save from the Bears first shot on target and ensured a clean sheet for the stopper and a point for each side.
