The U18s continued their winning run with a 5-0 victory over Whitehawk on Thursday evening.
The Hillians started the game well, although they were controlling possession they struggled to create any real chances in the first quarter of the match.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 24th minute when Alex Brewer was played through and calmly slotted past the Hawks keeper.
The Hillians looked to extend their lead and were now creating more chances, Alex Brewer hit the crossbar and saw another effort hit the post and the rebound was unfortunately skied by Charlie Clayton.
Alex did however score his and the Hillians second of the evening in the 38th minute with a classy run before unleashing a finish into the top corner.
Half Time 2-0
The Hillians began the second half really well as they looked to put the Hawks to the sword and extended their lead in the 53rd minute when Alex Brewer completed his hattrick.
They continued to dominate the game creating chances but couldn’t quite find the finishing touch. Alex again having a chance cleared off the line and Koby Farrell putting a header over from 2 yards.
The fourth goal of the evening finally arrived in the 82nd minute with another good strike from Koby Farrell. The fifth and final goal of the evening came after some great work from Kai Birchley down the left and his cross was turned into their own net by a Hawks defender.
Another very good performance and deserved win for the boys. Next week they have another two matches away to Hastings and Lewes where they’ll look to extend their winning run.
