The Hillians are delighted to announce the signing of Nico Jones.

The 6ft 3 central defender joins the Hillians from National League side Dover Athletic.

Nico started his career coming through the Fulham Academy where he spent 8 years. In 2018 he signed a scholarship with Oxford United where he made three first team appearances at the end of the 2018/19 season and soon after signed a two year contract.

The 2019/20 season he made one first team appearance when he captained United to 4-1 win over Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy and became the Club’s youngest ever captain.

He had loan spells during his time at Oxford a United with National League sides Oxford City and Havant & Waterloovile.

In 2021 he signed a two year contract with Brentford and was a regular for the B team of the Premier League outfit making 61 appearances. Since leaving them he had spells with National League sides Welling United and Dover Athletic before signing for the Hillians.

Nico also has one cap for the Republic of Ireland’s U18 side as he featured in 0-0 draw with Sweden.
