The Club are pleased to announce that Under 18’s manager Gary Mansell has been promoted to First Team Assistant Manager under Manager Dean Cox.
Mansell has been working with the club for several years now developing our youth pathway and recently his under 18’s have enjoyed a fantastic FA Youth Cup run, he will take up the role as Dean’s no. 2 with immediate affect to bolster the management team.
Will Hendon will support Dean and Gary as first team coach with Ross Ball and Steve Carlberg continuing in their roles.
Gary, who holds a UEFA A license coaching badge, will continue to oversee the Under 18’s with Adie Clayton, and help bring the talent through from the Under 18’s whilst also giving more tactical and technical support to the first team.
First team manager Dean Cox is delighted that Gary has agreed to join his management team, “I am very pleased Gary has accepted my offer he will further strengthen the management team moving forward, he has done a fantastic job with our Under 18’s and is very keen to implement his success with us moving forward.”
This is what Gary had to say about his promotion “A big thank you to Dean and the clubs board for the opportunity to join the senior team set up. It’s been a good couple of years for our U18s which has given me the platform to develop as a coach. A talent pool that we will look to hopefully ustilise once settled in”.
“It’s a good time to join the 1st team as we have a good squad and alongside the exciting developments going on at the club away from the pitch the future is looking very bright”.
“I look forward to getting started this weekend ahead of our home cup game on Tuesday.”
