Burgess Hill crashed out of the FA Trophy in blistering conditions.
Lewis Finney opened the scoring with a tremendous left-footed strike that flew into the top corner.
It was a goal out of the blue but Hythe deservedly levelled matters after 36 minutes as Hill gave the ball away and a ball over the top saw Jack Steventon latch onto it and calmly slot past James Shaw.
The Hillians were still half asleep by the time they found themselves down less than two minutes after the break. Hill didn’t clear a long throw and it fell to Lex Allan who absolutely smashed the ball past a helpless Shaw.
Hill, missing nine players, just couldn’t get going. Aaron Barnes finished off a long throw to seal the Cannons spot in the next round where they will face Chertsey Town.
