Erith proved to be stubborn opposition for the Hill and the hosts took the lead in the 17th when after multiple shots and crosses which finally saw the ball bundled home by Harry Taylor although it looked to have been handled in.

But the lead only lasted three minutes as the Hill instantly responded. Rob O’Toole curled his cross and Dan Perry met it to head home for his first goal of the season.

Both sides had chances as Erith had one cleared off the line and Jack Taylor shooting over from close range from Nic D’Arienzo’s long throw.

The second half continued to see both sides have chances with Perry and Pamment going close for us as the game moved into extra time.

James Shaw, making his first start since rejoining, made an incredible double save to keep the score’s level in the first period of extra time.

With a penalty shootout looming and just seven minutes left on the clock the Hillians won the tie when Marcel Powell slipped in Lewis Finney, who had been bright spark ever since coming on,  and he shot home to put the tie to bed.
