The Hillians suffered their first loss of the season going down 2-0 at home to Erith & Belvedere at a rain lashed HomeCall Carpets Community Stadium last Saturday.
A thunderstorm and torrential rain greeted the first 15 minutes of the game and it was the Dere’s who had the first effort but Taylor Seymour made a good low save.
Hillians almost took the lead when Kieron Pamment’s corner was met by Nic D’Arienzo who’s header clipped the crossbar.
The visitors did take the lead though as Josh Ajayi cut inside and smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Pamment went close for the Hill and minutes later he hit the post with a looping effort, the rebound fell to Dan Perry who could only stab wide.
It was end to end stuff and after 36 minutes the Hillians hit the woodwork again as Reeece Hallard’s shot struck the post and 3 minutes later it was struck for a fourth time as Hallard’s shot was tipped onto the post by the visiting keeper and
within a minute it was heartbreak for Hill as Chris Dickson finished an excellent counter attack to double the lead.
Lewis Finney struck a free kick which Jordan Perrin saved after 54 minutes before Erith again moved up field quickly and nearly added a third.
The Hillians had a few chances to get back into the game but couldn’t get past Perrin as the visitors saw the game out to take the points.
