Former Crystal Palace, Millwall, Derby County and Southend Utd winger, Dave Martin has joined Matt Longhurst’s Hillians to add some creativity to our squad. Manager Matt Longhurst had this to say.

“Dave won this league last season with Hastings so knows what it takes to be at the top end of this league, he has undoubted talent and will add some additional quality in the final third that we feel we need. We also need some more experience with the younger squad we have and again, Dave adds this in abundance. I am delighted to be able to get someone of this calibre into the club at this stage of the season“

Also joining is George Griffiths, a 20 year midfield player who has previous experience at Wimborne. George is also the older brother of AFC Wimbledon GK, Harry Griffiths who recently played on loan for the Hillians. On George, Matt had this to say “George is a local player who has moved back from university, he brings an energy and technical ability that is exactly what we want in the squad”

Moving on from the squad is Central Defender George Brown who leaves the club with everyone’s best wishes. George has found game time limited this season and has been out for a lengthy period with injury and needs games to get back to full fitness. Longhurst said “George is someone I really like and I just feel it’s the right thing for him personally and I fully agree he needs too be playing games at this stage of the season“
