If you’ve been suffering from L.O.L.P (Lack of Leylands Park, duh) recently then you aren’t alone. We’re here for you. At 3pm on Saturday afternoon to be absolutely precise! It’s yet another Sussex Derby as the Grinstead Wasps buzz on over and they bring a couple of familiar faces….

The Hill are coming off the back of a Velocity Trophy 1st round exit to Chichester City but it gave Jay Lovett a chance to give players short of minutes, some much needed game time. The result wasn’t what we would of wanted, falling 2-1 at Oaklands Park but Jeff Duah-Kessie came off the bench to grab his second Hillians goal and was a bright spark throughout presenting Lovett with a selection headache for Saturday.

East Grinstead have been without a game for 2 weeks, so they will be ready and raring to go on Saturday, that is for sure. That afore mentioned last game was a 1-0 home defeat to Sheppey United with former professional footballer Jack Midson getting the goal to sting the wasps. It has been a solid start despite that, EG currently sit 11th with 7 points from the opening 5 matches in the Isthmian League.

The Wasps have some familiar faces in the ranks both on and off the field. Daniel Uchechi and Andrew Briggs now don the colours of Grinstead but both used to entertain the masses at Leylands Park once upon a time and Jay Lovett will know the dangers both possess.

A big thank you to our match sponsor for this fixture, A. Rowe Garden Contractor.

Jo and Katie’s BOTN Tea Hut will be open throughout the afternoon, be sure to give them a visit!

The Hillians Bar will be showing West Ham Vs Wolves live at 5:30pm.

Please arrive at the More Than Tyres Stadium early to avoid queuing in the lead up to kick off!

We can’t wait to welcome you all back home, Come On You Hill!
