August has notoriously been a difficult month for the Hillians and the all too common slow start is rearing its head again. The Emirates FA Cup gives Jay Lovett and his men a chance to get that first win on the board as we entertain Stansfeld.

2 defeats in 4 days for the Greens including a 1-0 defeat at Chichester City on Tuesday wasn’t the way we aimed to start the new campaign but both performances we can count ourselves unfortunate to not pick up a point or 3. It’s been creating chances which have been the early season scourge and that is something we will be aiming to change this weekend.

Stansfeld will be a new name to many I am sure, so let’s introduce you to our latest visitors to Paradise. Stansfeld are a side from Chislehurst, Greater London and they ply their trade in the SCEFL Premier Division. They have played 3 matches in the league so far this season, winning 2 and losing 1, with the defeat coming to Welling Town on Tuesday. To get to this stage in the Emirates FA Cup, our visitors overcame Wembley FC 4-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round.

Jay Lovett’s men will be aiming for a good cup run this year, the furthest we have ever gone in the competition is the 4th Qualifying round, just a win away from the FA Cup 1st Round. Stansfeld will be eyeing up a cupset and they will have no fear coming to Leylands Park. They will be aiming to reach the 1st Qualifying Round for the first time in their history.

Jo and Katie’s BOTN Tea Hut will be open throughout the afternoon, be sure to give them a visit! Please note they will only be accepting CASH payments.

The Hillians Bar will be open after the game showing live Premier League Football between Bournemouth and Arsenal.

Please note, this fixture is ALL pay. Season/400 Club Tickets are not valid for this fixture or any other cup competition.

Please arrive at the More Than Tyres Stadium early to avoid queuing in the lead up to kick off!

We looking forward to welcoming you all to Mid Sussex at the weekend.
