1-1

With just a week to go until the competitive season gets underway, the South Londoners travelled down to the More Than Tyres Stadium for our seventh and final pre-season affair.

The opening twenty minutes belonged to Jay Lovett’s side, as Reece Williams-Bowers and Louie Downey both came close to opening the scoring. It was, however, the visitors who took the lead; a well-constructed move finished well by the Casuals forward. Martyn Box almost bought about an instant reply, but his effort fired wide of the target. Ten minutes before half-time, the Hillians were level, as Box and Charlie Bennett combined well before finding Jordi Ndozid – who lashed his strike into the bottom corner. The Hillians passed up a golden opportunity to take the lead just before the interval, as a teasing corner skipped passed Nathan Cooper and Max Blencowe – begging to be tapped home.

HT 1-1.

The Bracken Brothers got their side firing for the second half, as the visitors came out of the blocks flying, hitting the upright just four minutes from the restart. Both sides struggled to settle into a rhythm, with both enjoying spells of possession without any real avail. In the 72nd minute, Josh James produced a fine save to keep the scores level heading into the final knockings. With just six minutes remaining, another teasing delivery evaded everyone in a green and black shirt and trickled out for a goal-kick to mark the end of proceedings at the More Than Tyres Stadium.

FT 1-1.

Another good run-out for Jay Lovett’s men against step three opposition.

Next up, we kick off our FA Cup campaign!
