The hosts took the lead in the 17th minute, as Emmanuel Mensah placed his strike into the upper echelons – giving Josh James absolutely no chance. The Hillians first real chance of the half fell to Pat Harding, who’s header cannoned back off the crossbar following some good work down the flank by Max Miller. The half petered out with the balance of play in favour of the Leafe.

The Hillians came out in the second half firing, and equalised almost instantaneously, as O’Shaye Giraud-Hutchinson opened his account with a beautiful finish into the top corner. It was, however, the hosts who struck next, and Ronald Sobowale converted from the penalty spot in the 51st minute. The Surrey side’s lead was extended to three, in the 70th minute, as Sobowale got his second of the night – capitalising on some lackadaisical defending. But, the Hillians weren’t finished yet, as Giraud-Hutchinson found the bottom corner to breathe life into the fightback. That fightback was crushed by Sobowale, as he completed his hat-trick, seven minutes from time, all but securing the points for the hosts. Andrew Briggs clawed a third back for the Hillians, but his efforts were swiftly followed by the referee’s full-time whistle.

Thank you to all you Hillians who made the trip to support the club.

Next up, we’re off to the Hawks.
