We are delighted to announce the signing of former Barnet, Luton Town and Sutton United midfielder, Luke Gambin to the club!

The vastly experienced 32 year-old midfielder joins the Hillians after a successful career mostly spent in the Football League and the National League.

Luke started his career in the youth system at Barnet before spending more than five years in the Bees first team set up, winning promotion from the National League into League 2 in 2014/15. In January 2017 he signed for Luton Town and achieved promotion from League 2, into League one alongside fellow Hillian Glen Rea.

Luke subsequently spent the 2018/19 season on loan with Sussex neighbours Crawley Town. In the summer of 2019 he signed a two year deal with Colchester United and in January 2021 he went out on loan to Newport County until the end of the season. In July 2021 he signed for Maltese Premier side Hamrun Spartans, spending a season there before returning to England the following summer whereby he signed for then League 2 side Sutton United.

Not only has Luke got a successful domestic career, he also has a successful international career, earning in excess of 35 International caps for Malta, scoring his first goal for them against Slovakia in a 2-2 World Cup Qualifier draw in March 2021.

Jay Lovett commenting on the latest Hillian, said: “We are really pleased to add someone of Luke’s pedigree and experience to the team. Luke will give us plenty of options with where to play him, whilst adding a composed and creative head to the squad”

Luke is available to make his debut this Saturday at home to Folkestone Invicta in the FA Trophy.

Welcome to the Hill, Luke!
