The development squad continued staged a late comeback to take all three points on Thursday night against a strong Leatherhead FC squad.
The game started well for the Hillians as we broke clear from an LFC corner in the first 5 minutes, Tariq Richards was left one on one with the keeper and made no mistake to give us a 1-0 lead.
Unfortunately, it was only ten minutes later that Tariq turned his ankle and Mathias replaced him, an enforced shuffle of the formation led to increased pressure from LFC and they eventually found an equaliser with five minutes of the half remaining to leave the score 1-1 at half time.
Another enforced change due to injury saw Tadley replaced by Tom Butler and the lads went out for the second half optimistic we could get a result. However, it was LFC who got the next goal to go 2-1 up on 60 minutes.
Hill looked a bit sorry for themselves but with Brandon leading the line and Mitch making some key saves the belief returned. Issa was getting some joy down the left and the midfield was starting to dominate as we pressed for an equaliser.
Pat Harding was replaced by young Ben Wilson and the equaliser followed soon after with Brandon turning well into the box and firing in from 15 yards to make it 2-2 on 80min.
His desire to get the ball out of the net and return to the centre showed a confidence we could win the game and after good work from Issa, it was Ben who side-stepped the keeper to finish neatly and give us the 3-2 lead with a few minutes remaining and subsequent all three points.
Overall both games have been a tough challenge for the squad but two wins will give us the momentum to build on the performances and hopefully continue developing with a positive mindset.
