The Hillians made a number of changes to the side that beat Aveley FC in the FA Trophy on Saturday, in the Halloween fixture against Hailsham. However, the side put out for this Sussex Senior Cup tie showed their quality, with Tim Cook opening the scoring with a fine finish just 5 minutes in. Cook got his and the Hillians second on the half hour mark, as the Hillians continued to dominate the game. The Hillians had plenty of chances in the second half, whilst limiting Hailsham to only a few. Substitute Chinedu McKenzie was desperately unlucky not to score a delightful chip, but his effort rebounded off the foot of the post. The game was all but put to bed on 83 minutes, and another teenager Charlie Bennett slid in at the far post and tucked the ball away into the corner. Aaron Smith-Joseph topped of a brilliant individual display with a goal in injury time, as the Hillians showed their quality throughout. The Hillians return to league action this Saturday against Leiston.
