Hillians held by Colney Heath

BHTFC threw away a 3-0 lead at Colney Heath FC and now face a replay this Tues at the GES.

Hillians took an early lead, when Pat Harding’s scored after the Colney goalkeeper failed to hold onto a Brivio shot from outside the box. The score was doubled when Brandon Diau scored a header from a corner and when Diau volleyed in from short range the Hillians looked as they were going through to the next round.

The home side were given hope just before half time when Diallo’s outstretched leg gave a penalty away in the 35th minute and was duly converted by Callum Dudrenec.

1-3 H/T

The second half started slowly with the home side encouraged by Hillian’s ‘sloppy’ passing and poor decision making contributing to the away team not threatening the home teams goal until late on in the game. BHTFC were finally punished when Jimmy Hill scored from a rebound from a Huxter save and then things got worse for the Bostik Premier League team when the Toure was put under pressure in the air and his poor header was punished by Jack Woods who volleyed home with 4 minutes to go.

Hillians just managed to keep the ‘bouyed’ home team from scoring a winner and had a good chance to win the tie when Smith – Joseph fired over the bar from just inside the box.

3-3 F/T

The replay is this Tuesday, 19/9, at the GES. The KO time tbc.
